Once your new baby has arrived, it is even more essential for you to receive emotional support and physical care to ensure a positive postpartum experience. While most of the attention and care is focused on your newborn during this time, postpartum massage is all about nurturing you. Sessions are designed to help your body recover from childbirth, support the hormonal shift of new motherhood, and address the surprising physical demands of caring for a tiny human. Whether this is your first or fifth baby, and you are 1 week or 9 months postpartum – postpartum sessions offer the space for you to relax and rejuvenate, to connect with your body, and to learn valuable self-care techniques.
CST is a light-touch method that releases deep tensions in the body to relieve pain and improve whole body function. CST uses a very gentle pressure, primarily at the base of the spine and the head, to evaluate and release restrictions around the brain and spinal cord so your body can relax and self-correct. The CranioSacral system is made up of soft tissues and fluid that protect and nourish the brain and spinal cord. The nervous system has a great impact on the body’s overall health and wellness. Once restrictions are released via the cranium and the sacrum, the fluid that bathes the central nervous system can do its job more efficiently.
Does your jaw crack or pop when opened?
Do you have pain when talking or chewing?
Do you experience frequent headaches, or pain in your neck and upper back?
These are just a few of the symptoms that are associated with Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction, or TMJD – a common musculoskeletal condition, commonly caused by stress, anxiety, clenching of the jaw, or problems with your bite. Our unique approach to TMJ-associated conditions focuses on alleviating the pain and disability that occurs as a direct result of overusing the muscles that open and close the mouth. Your initial visit will involve a comprehensive intake that may include; a review of your medical and dental history, a complete visual postural assessment, and discussion of any lifestyle or external factors that may contribute to your TMJ issues. Through this assessment we will determine a treatment plan specific to your individual needs.

Pregnancy is a time of intense change, both physically and emotionally, as your body expands to accommodate your growing baby. Massage with a specialized practitioner is a wonderful way to ensure that your pregnancy is healthy and comfortable. Prenatal sessions address specific areas that become stressed in pregnancy, such as the low back and hips, feet and legs, ribcage and neck, and can help to alleviate conditions including sciatica, SI joint dysfunction, pubic symphysis dysfunction, carpal tunnel syndrome, and leg cramps. Postural awareness and breathing techniques also help to create deep relaxation and preparation for a labor and birth. Prenatal massage is safe during all 3 trimesters and is performed in the side-lying and semi-reclining positions for maximal support and comfort. Your session will be modified as necessary to address your particular health and pregnancy needs.
Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy®
This ancient form of healing work, developed by Dr. Rosita Arvigo, helps to restore the body to its natural balance by correcting the position of organs that may be restricting the flow of blood, lymph, nerve, and chi energy. Congestion in the abdomen and pelvic bowl can manifest in various ways – digestive disorders, fertility issues, painful or irregular menstruation, menopause symptoms, depression and other mood disorders, low back pain, and migraines are just a few. Non-invasive external massage of the abdomen, low back and hips can help to guide internal organs to their optimal alignment to improve flow and function. Your initial session will include a thorough and comprehensive review of your health history and needs, and evaluation of the structural alignment of your spine, sacrum, and hips. Self-care abdominal massage will be taught and recommendations for complementary therapy may be made to support your professional treatments.
Acupuncture is based on the concept of energy or “qi,” (pronounced “chee”), and is a beautiful discipline for treating a full-range of health issues. According to Chinese Medicine, energy flows throughout the body along 12 main pathways or meridians. If this energy becomes blocked or depleted, an imbalance occurs directly leading to symptoms and/or illness. By inserting very fine disposable needles on points along these channels, health is restored by treating the imbalance, thus harmonizing the energy and alleviating symptoms. Our experienced acupuncturist is skilled at treating a myriad of conditions including pain, depression and anxiety, fertility issues, pregnancy symptoms, postpartum concerns, digestive disorders, and muskuloskeletal complaints. The techniques of acupuncture are gentle and non-invasive, and treatments are deeply relaxing and restorative.
